Bruce Brothers Racing took advantage of Henry’s last few days at home before returning to college and packed our bags and headed to Cincinnati this past weekend. Our first stop was for some indoor kart racing fun at Competition Racing (http://www.competitionracing.net/) in nearby Lawrenceburg, Indiana (see pictures below - click to enlarge). Indoor karting events involve timed wheel-to-wheel driving sessions where the primary objective is to post the fastest lap time. All five of us did the first session, the boys and I did the second session, and the boys did the third session along with several other competitors. The boys easily posted the fastest lap times of the day to that point and were within 0.06 seconds of each other (19.34, 19.38, and 19.40 seconds for Peter, Henry, and Conor, respectively). From there, we headed to Blue Ash Chili (http://www.blueashchili.com/) for some authentic Cincinnati-style chili. After checking into our hotel and having a dip in the pool, we went to the theater and saw the remake of True Grit (http://www.truegritmovie.com/). After the movie, we had burgers at Terry’s Turf Club (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Terrys-Turf-Club/164701121642). Both Blue Ash Chili and Terry’s Turf Club were recently featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (http://www.foodnetwork.com/diners-drive-ins-and-dives/index.html) – Blue Ash Chili was excellent and Terry’s Turf Club was awesome (see pictures below). After a good night’s sleep and a free breakfast, we packed up and headed to Jungle Jim’s International Market (http://www.junglejims.com/), which has been described as a theme park of food, in Fairfield, Ohio. When we got home, Henry prepared sushi for dinner. My post-Christmas diet took a severe beating...
